Pavithrotsavam Celebrations

Pavithrotsavam, a name derived from the combination of two words Pavitra (holy) and utsava (festival) is an annual ritual at the Temple. Its main objective is to get rid of the evil that might have been caused due to omissions and commissions in the performance of various rituals throughout the year.

During Pavithrotsavam, priests perform Pavitra Adhivasam, a special puja for Pavitra Mala (silk thread garlands). Priests offer these Pavitra Malas to the deities and perform Mula Mantra Homams to bring purity. The Pavitra Malas are then given to the devotee sponsors as blessings.
