Abishekam referrs to the Divine Lord taking bath, generally called as “ThiruManjanam” by Sri Vaishnavites. The Alwars considered Lord as their child, have sung Pasurams to bathe HIM. Mother YashodhA had Lord Krishna as her child. They poured their devotion and love upon him while bathing him and dress HIM with beautiful clothes, jewels.

During the process of “ThiruManjanam” Lord Venkateswara with Bhoo Devi and NeeLA Devi is offered Dhoopam, Deepam and bathed in DhravyAs such as Milk, Curd, Honey, Coconut Water, Fruit Mix, Turmeric while the Ghosti chants the Upanishad, Suktams and PeriyaAzhwar’s(Vishnuchitta) Neertam PAsurams (veNNai aLainda…).

This is a significant weekly event where in after the ThiruManjanam, Lord Venkateswara with Bhoo Devi, NeeLA Devi blesses us, dressed in excellent clothes and ornaments.
